Top 20 Destinations for 2019

The GDS-Index is a performance improvement programme to make the business tourism and events industry more sustainable. In a collaborative effort it helps destination management organisations, convention bureaus, event planners and MICE suppliers to adopt, promote and recognise responsible practices. The GDS-Index takes on the role of measuring the sustainability performance of participating destinations, and uses this data to give insights for future action. For example, by highlighting social and environmental shortcomings and suggesting best practices from other destinations. To promote and celebrate their achievements with the world, the GDS-Index also plays an important role in marketing destinations’ sustainability efforts.
